The Global Anglican December 2023
In this final issue of The Global Anglican for 2023, Peter Jensen writes an incisive and deeply biblical editorial considering the nature of our freedom. Bob Evans continues his discussion of early medieval theology, considering the doctrine of providence as developed by theologians in the court of Charlemagne. While using language with less precision than later formulations, their discussion is biblical and insightful. River Devereaux then takes us forward a few centuries to examine how the early Anglicans understood the Apocrypha and its role in the church. Matthew Wiley discusses Charles Taylor’s book A Secular Age and some of the responses made since it was published, asking whether Protestant sacramental theology can answer some of his concerns.
To finish, a range of books are reviewed by our expert reviewers.
