I think the merger between Reform and Church Society and the Fellowship of Word and Spirit is a really good idea. Here are two reasons why:

First of all I think it will amplify the voice of women in the Church of England who, like me, are committed to complementarian ministry. I think that men and women are equal in status and dignity and humanity, but nevertheless have different roles to play both in the family and in the church. These roles are equally valid if men and women are to be taught and discipled effectively by God’s word. So that’s the first reason.

The second reason is that I think it will bring together and support a larger network of churches who want to promote complementarian ministry, and that’s going to be important going forward. Church Society has a wealth of resources and publications and also a long history of representing conservative evangelicals in the Church of England.

I’ve already signed up and become a member of Church Society and I would urge you to get on board and do the same.
