George Herbert on different kinds of pastor. Even if they are experts in theology, he says, they ought not to teach God's ways at all, if they are not themselves godly.
Rather, he uses the word “priest” because the Book of Common Prayer does. It does so, somewhat ambiguously it must be said, partly because “priest” is a contraction for the word “presbyter”, which was more unusual a term.
