Church Society is run by a Council, elected by those who attend the Annual General Meeting. There was a good turnout for our AGM on Saturday. With some members stepping down after several years service, there was a chance for some new names to make their mark.

Two brand new Council members were elected: Mike Print and Julie Woolford.

The Revd Michael Print is a deacon serving in a working-class parish in the North. He says, "As such, I hope to bring a different perspective to other Council members. I regularly attend JAEC, and before I was ordained I worked at Manchester Airport, and then in Christian retail."

Dr Julie Woolford is 31 and married to Tom, and mother of two infant daughters. She writes, "I’ve been a keen supporter of Church Society for several years and hope to contribute another distinctive lay voice to Council as we seek to grow the work of the Society."

Please pray for the ongoing work of the Council, and for these two new members in particular.

With Viscount Brentford standing down as President after decades of faithful service, the AGM also elected a new President: the Rt Revd Wallace Benn, who is the former bishop of Lewes and also the President of the Fellowship of Word and Spirit.
