Formulary Friday: the Anglican doctrine of infant baptism
The Fellowship of Word & Spirit conference this year was devoted to the subject of the sacraments. I was asked to speak on infant baptism from an Anglican perspective, and you can listen to or download that talk above.
Some of the quotes I used from Thomas Cranmer can be found in a previous Topical Tuesday post here. It is important to note the very clear covenantal basis for infant baptism in the Anglican tradition, which Cranmer taught and other commentators have noted. Covenant is not just a Presbyterian idea -- far from it!
