The latest edition of Crossway is now on its way to members and subscribers. This issue takes a closer look at the power and processes in the Church of England's structures, especially around General Synod. James Cary, a member of Archbishops' Council, considers where the power really lies. Debbie Buggs, who chairs some of the General Synod debates, explains how decisions are made. Ben John tells us about the value of fringe meetings, and I consider what the next steps are in the Living in Love and Faith process.

You'll also be introduced to a handful of the many Church Society members who are currently on General Synod, with their different interests and expertise. Please remember to pray for them, and all of us who will be at Synod in York later this week. There is a busy programme, including group work on LLF and an exhibition of the creative responses to LLF.

Also in Crossway, George Crowder introduces the Network of Revitalisation Ministries (NoRM) and Lee Gatiss draws some lessons from John Owen about faith in a time of war. We hope you will find it an encouraging read in these difficult times.
