Church Society will be seeking to influence the Conference at a time of national reflection as a consequence of the riots and lawlessness which broke out in many of Britain’s cities.
Church Society, the premier evangelical body of the Church of England, working in partnership with the Protestant Truth Society and Christian Watch, will be running a stand and also distributing a timely publication: ‘Why the Big Society needs the Bible.’
For too long our politicians have denied that the breakdown of our social cohesion has been due to the systematic undermining of the Christian faith and Biblical moral code. At the same time as the nation marks the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Version of the Bible, Church Society will seek to promote the urgent message that Britain needs to return to the timeless truths of the Bible and its Christian heritage.
