From their advert:
'The Mission Community, comprising the nine rural parishes of Calverleigh, Cruwys Morchard, Loxbeare, Oakford, Rackenford, Stoodleigh, Templeton, Washfield and Withleigh, with its Patrons including Church Society, CPAS and the Martyrs Memorial Trust, is looking for a person who is an Evangelical, with the vision, energy, enthusiasm and sense of humour, to lead us with faith and confidence into the future, and who is, ideally:
- a person of prayer and Bible based ministry, who accepts the authority of the Bible as God's revealed truth;
- a person for whom pastoral care is of the utmost importance, and has a heart not just for the church family but for the community as well;
- a strong leader, but able to delegate; and a good communicator, able to work with the other members of the clergy and laity who have responsibilities within the various parishes;
- able to develop the Exe Valley Mission Community whilst treating each parish as individual, and enabling the people to participate in its development;
- is comfortable with traditional, contemporary and informal styles of worship;
Whilst the Exe Valley Mission Community is very firmly committed to women's ministy, Resolution B has been passed by one of the parishes. We, therefore, seek to appoint a male priest who will happily work with female colleagues and foster the ministry of both lay and ordained men and women.'
